Save the date: Exploring tools and methods for Nature-based Solutions on European coastlines

How can Nature-based Solutions (NbS) become part of coastal management strategies? And what tools and approaches can help put them into practice, particularly in the face of climate change?

Join us on 19 November at 13:00 UTC for the European webinar “Towards flexible management: tools and methods for implementing Nature-based Solutions on European coastlines”, organised by the LIFE Adapto+ project.

The webinar will bring together experts from several European projects and organisations to share tools, methods and experiences supporting the implementation of NbS along Europe's coastlines.

REWRITE will be part of the discussion, with Vona Méléder and Lou-Ann Beaupuis from the University of Nantes presenting how the project brings together perspectives from natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities to examine the tools used in coastal rewilding.

The programme will also feature contributions from:

  • Petra Goessen, Coastal Research, Regional Water Authority of HHNK (the Netherlands), on coastal research conducted by the regional water authority.

  • Massimiliano Marino and Rosaria Musumeci, University of Catania (Italy), on storm event modelling developed within the RestCoast project.

  • Yuting Tai, Deltares (the Netherlands), on the adaptation pathways methodology applied at RestCoast sites.

  • Olivier Brivois, BRGM (France), and Marie Cherchelay, Conservatoire du littoral, on tools developed within the LIFE Adapto+ project.

By bringing together different projects and perspectives, the webinar will offer an opportunity to compare approaches and discuss how flexible management can support climate change adaptation along European coastlines.
